Kentucky Equine Humane Center
Located in Nicholasville, Kentucky, the Kentucky Equine Humane Center provides humane treatment and shelter while working as a clearinghouse for all of Kentucky’s unwanted equines, regardless of breed.
This amazing center’s mission includes educating the public and raising awareness for responsible equine ownership so that fewer horses end up in crisis. The Center works with and serves as a model for organizations with the same mission in other states: to save America’s equines from inhumane treatment.
Every donkey, mule and horse surrendered to KyEHC is evaluated by licensed veterinarians, and all adoptable equines are posted on the Center’s website, along with notices sent out to an extensive, all-breed network to place them in a good home. Whether a sound, competitive athlete, kid’ pony, trail horse, companion or pasture pet, KyEHC does its best to place each animal.
