Old Friends began as a retirement and rescue facility for pensioned Thoroughbreds. The beautiful farm in Georgetown, Kentucky, is the only thoroughbred rescue/retirement facility that accepts stallions. The folks at Old Friends are passionate about their mission to help retired Thoroughbreds—and all equines—in need.
Rallie McAllister, MD, MPH, is the cofounder and medical director of this website, which is filled with more than 450 content-rich pages and features time-, money-, and sanity-saving tips that doctors who are also mothers use for their own families. Rallie is also the coauthor of the Mommy MD Guides book series. The Mommy MD Guide to Pregnancy and Birth came out in 2010, and The Mommy MD Guide to Your Baby’s First Year is “due” in September 2011. The Mommy MD Guides’ goal is to help all moms and moms-to-be lead happier, healthier lives.
